As we embark on the second edition of the Austin FOOD & WINE Festival, we have been busy planning a much bigger epicurean experience for attendees and participants in April.
So what’s cooking, you ask?
Expanded Grand Tasting Tents covering a larger footprint, with an increased number of restaurants and purveyors serving up tasting-size portions.
Interactive Chef Stations will be programmed around the park where participating chefs will cook throughout the day, imparting cooking tips and other kitchen wisdom, while dishing up samples of their craft. This will include the Fire Pit — an up-close-and-personal area for grabbing some grill tips and a bite in between demos.
Larger tents, more seating available during cooking demos and wine seminars.
This year’s schedule of programming has been designed to maximize attendees’ opportunities to experience a variety of cooking demos, wine tastings, book signings and grand tastings.
Several wine, spirits and food vendors will be activated throughout the event grounds, enabling attendees to engage with chefs and culinary professionals in between seminars and demos, throughout the day.
Additionally, we are grateful to the Austin City Council for approving restoration plans for Auditorium Shores. Due to recent efforts of the Austin Parks and Recreation Department, the Festival site is looking freshly manicured, and we look forward to working with them to make the 2013 edition of Austin FOOD & WINE Festival the lush, green epicurean experience we all envision.
With larger tents for Grand Tastings, demos, and seminars, an overall increase in food offerings, a redesigned programming schedule, more interaction with culinary talent, and the beautiful green lawn along Lady Bird Lake, the second annual Austin FOOD & WINE Festival is certain to be a bigger, more vibrant experience that is not to be missed.
The Austin FOOD & WINE Festival is a collaboration of some of Texas’ most celebrated chefs and restaurateurs. A portion of the Festival’s proceeds will benefit The Austin Food & Wine Alliance, dedicated to fostering awareness and innovation in the Central Texas food and wine community through grants, educational programming and events.
