With the Formula 1 race descending upon Austin this weekend, there are plenty of events all over town geared toward longtime race enthusiasts and new fans alike. Whether you’re looking to amp up your weekend or just get a taste of the action, don’t miss these fun happenings.
The Second Annual Formula 1 Texas Hill Country Round-Up and Barbeque will be Friday, November 15 from 5PM – 10PM at Camp Mabry. The event will feature all you can eat BBQ from Southside Market & Barbeque, a guided tour of the 1870’s Cavalry campsite by the Buffalo Soldiers of Company A, 9th Regiment, numerous Ferraris on display, and entry into the Texas Military Forces Museum.
The “Perfect F1 Friday Night” presented by Formula Austin and Formula VIP Events will feature top Texas artists, including Asleep at the Wheel, performing live at ACL Live’s Moody Theater from 8PM – 10PM followed by a conveniently located after-party next door at the W Hotel in downtown Austin.
Supper Friends invites racing fans to “An Ode to F1” this Saturday from 7PM – 10:30PM at SWOOP House. The supper will be curated by Chef Allie Olivia, of 2 Dine 4 Fine Catering, and feature Formula 1 racing colors in each of the courses. Looking for a different kind of entertainment during the upcoming Formula 1 weekend? The 8th Annual Carnival O’Pizza is taking place this Saturday, November 16th from 12:00 PM – 7:00 PM. The event will be held in the heart of South Congress at Austin’s most celebrated pizza joint, Home Slice Pizza. Pizza eating contests, pizza tossing competitions and a pizza box folding challenge are just a few things on the agenda.
