Ashley Neave, Head Chef at Forthright, brings an English flare to his culinary quest. Native of Norwich, England, Ashley grew up with intentions of moving to America, and the best way he knew how was to cultivate success in the kitchen.
During his time at Norwich City College, Ashley studied the art of cooking for three and a half years before setting out for Long Beach in Long Island, New York, for an externship with Lawrence Beach Club. After obtaining his degree, Ashley began his professional career at The Everglades Club in Palm Beach, Florida. Known for being one of the most exclusive social clubs in the United States, Ashley expanded his culinary skills for high-society clientele and established his footing in the country. Later, Ashley landed the position of sous chef at Justine’s on Fifth Street in Austin and perfected the art of French cuisine. Most recently, Ashley revamped the kitchen for Peoples Rx, where he met Michael Swail, the owner of Forthright.
Whenever Ashley is able to step away from Forthright’s kitchen, he enjoys riding his motorcycle through the city’s streets and hunting in the great outdoors; although, spending time with his kids is his greatest interest. Ashley is inspired by his children’s free spirits, and he tries to bring their imagination to work with him as he creates new recipes. He holds a special connection to Forthright’s success, for he has been at the helm of the kitchen from its opening. His biest goal for the restaurant? To open six more across the country.
