Born in South Dakota, Josh Neises grew up working in kitchens from the time he was in high school. Neises has accumulated over 16 years of hands-on experience working in restaurants all over the Southern United States, with his career taking off as Sous Chef at TC’s Referee in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. From there, he held positions as Kitchen Manager at Green Mill and Executive Chef at Cherry Creek before becoming the lead grill cook at CC’s City Broiler in Overland Park, Kansas.
In 2007, Neises moved to Fort Worth, Texas, where he briefly ran the kitchen at Cattleman’s Steakhouse before becoming Chef de Cuisine at renowned Texan chef Tim Love’s flagship restaurant Lonesome Dove Western Bistro. After three years, Neises moved to Austin, TX – where he still lives with his wife and children – and returned to Love’s restaurant group as Chef de Cuisine at Lonesome Dove Austin.
