June Rodil

Master Sommelier, McGuire Moorman Hospitality Beverage Director & June’s All Day Partner

June Rodil is the Beverage Director of McGuire Moorman Hospitality, overseeing the wine, beer and spirits programs at eight of Austin’s most popular restaurants: June’s All Day, Jeffrey’s, Josephine House, Clark’s, Elizabeth Street Café, Perla’s, Lamberts Barbecue and most recently Pool Burger. Born in the Philippines and raised in Dallas, Texas, June is a Master Sommelier – only the seventh in Texas and the 23rd woman in the United States – after passing The Court of Master Sommelier’s rigorous test in 2015.

June first came to Austin in 1998 to attend University of Texas and originally aimed for a career in law before turning her sights on food and drink. Her first restaurant gig was at Austin’s Driskill Grill, where she started as a server and quickly rose to sommelier after realizing her passion for wine. She then honed her craft at some of Austin’s most popular restaurants, including Uchi, Uchiko and qui before joining the McGuire Moorman Hospitality team in May of 2014. Outside of her work at MMH, June is an active board member of GuildSomm, TEXSOM, the Advisory Counsel for Atlanta Food & Wine and has been a speaker on panels for SXSW Pebble Beach Food & Wine.

In July 2016, June and McGuire Moorman Hospitality opened June’s All Day, a neighborhood cafe on South Congress Avenue. In May 2017, Food & Wine Magazine included June’s All Day in their “Best Restaurants of 2017.” June uses her namesake restaurant as a playground for serving her favorite hard-to-find wines with an emphasis on Champagne and sparkling wines from around the world. The reserve list changes monthly and is showcased in a hand-drawn Wine Zine with rotating themes that she makes with staff to help make wine more educational, less intimidating and fun.

In October 2017, MMH launched their first private label wine called June’s Brut Rosé which June worked closely with Austrian winemaker Markus Huber to create. It is available by the bottle and the glass at all eight restaurants for guests. June wanted to make a sparkling rosé as it is one of the most popular wines among the restaurants especially with all the patios and nice weather in Austin. Austrian wines are also very pure and well-suited for food. June is currently making another vintage with Markus for next year.
