From behind the bar to owning her own restaurant, chef Marjorie Pettigrove has spent the last 16 years mastering her craft in the food and beverage industry. Hailing from South Texas, Marjorie is especially proud to be in her home state doing what she loves most and working with the local ingredients she loves best.
Prior to leading TLC’s kitchen, Marjorie honed her Texas flair at The Driskill, where she delighted the sophisticated palettes of patrons and event attendees for 8 years. Starting in 2010, she quickly ascended from line cook to sous chef, and then to event chef. It was at the Driskill that she discovered her zeal for creating innovative dishes with seasonal Texas ingredients.
Marjorie began her culinary journey at the Art Institute of California where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Culinary Arts and Management. Prior to her time at the Driskill, she owned an Italian wine and cheese bar in Encinitas, CA and catering business in San Diego. She also worked as an exhibition seafood chef at The Fish Market in Del Mar, CA before finding her way back home to Texas.
At TLC, Marjorie creates friendly, Texas coastal-inspired dishes that people want to share; memorable, nostalgic food that is comforting and communal. She believes in using local ingredients and supporting farmers and ranchers who share her commitment to quality and sustainability.
When she’s not in the kitchen, Marjorie relishes family time with her incredible husband, Adam, maniac toddler, John Hayden, and her best furry friend, Waffles. You can also find her feeding her pie obsession and spending as much time as possible outdoors in gorgeous Austin, Texas.
